Compression springs
Compression springs are is designed to reduce the length under load. The coils of such springs without load do not touch each other. The end coils are pressed to the neighboring ones and the ends of the spring are polished. Long compression springs, to avoid loss of stability, are put on mandrels or barrels.
The coils of the compression spring under the action of constant magnitude of the force undergo the stress of two types: bending and torsion. Twisted metal springs convert the compression deformation of the spring into the torsional deformation of the material from which it is made.
According to the shape compression springs are divided into the following types:
- cylindrical
- conical (cone),
- figured (prismatic, barrel-shaped, two-cone)
- with constant or variable pitch
- with different tilt angle.
The main characteristics of the compression springs are as following:
- diameter of spring
- number of working coils
- total number of coils
- spring height in free state
- springs with not pressed end coils used in the work on stocks;
- spring with pressed sharpened or polished end coils;
- springs with pressed, but not polished end coils
according to the direction of winding springs are divided into following types
- right hand wound and left wound
- the maximum perceived load
The equipment of the enterprise allows to manufacture disc springs according to drawings and samples of the customer. Manufacturing of springs of different configurations of the hot rolled winding of 12-60 mm, with an outer diameter of 30-400 mm, Cold winding from wire of 0,1 — 12 with outer diameter of 1-100 mm. They are manufactured of steel GOST 9389-75, 60Ñ2À - ÃÎÑÒ 14963—78, 51ÕÔÀ GOST 14963-78.
If required, a compression spring is subjected to greasing or anti-corrosion galvanized finish.
